On 27 March 2026, a foundation stone laying ceremony took place for the extension of the Nursing and Care Facility (ZOL) of the Healthcare Centre (ZOZ) in Wągrowiec.
The foundation act was signed by: Deputy Governor of the Greater Poland Voivodeship Karolina Fabiś-Szulc, District Governor (Starosta) of Wągrowiec Tomasz Kranc, Director of the Healthcare Centre Dr Przemysław Bury, and Aleksander Grzywaczewski, Director of the Poznań branch of Adamietz S.A.
The signed document was placed in a time capsule embedded in the foundations of the new building, together with: the building permit, a commemorative photograph of the ZOL staff, a miniature portrait of Blessed Hanna Chrzanowska, a banknote issued by the National Bank of Poland, a euro coin, and a USB drive containing a digital version of an album on the history and present day of the Wągrowiec District.
The project is being carried out in two stages and encompasses the renovation of the existing Building B (approx. 1,000 m² of usable floor area), including a full replacement of sanitary, electrical, heating and medical gas installations, elevator replacement and installation of medical panels, as well as the construction of a new wing (approx. 900 m² of usable floor area, two above-ground storeys) and site development works – roads, car parks and a new power generator.
The entire investment area is subject to heritage protection and is listed in the register of historic monuments as part of a historic urban layout.
