We have completed the expansion of the SP ZOZ hospital in Kędzierzyn-Koźle

Adding two additional storeys above an operating hospital, without interrupting its work. The investment covered the relocation and expansion of the geriatric ward as well as the gynecology and oncological urology departments. As Adamietz S.A., we were responsible for the entire scope of works as general contractor. Building on an active hospital site, within a short completion deadline, was a serious engineering and logistical challenge. Every stage required precise planning and coordination with the facility’s staff. What was built:
▪️ An extension of building A1 by two storeys – 2,117.13 m² of usable space with patient rooms, diagnostic rooms and staff facilities
▪️ A technical storey with a ventilation plant room serving the entire complex
▪️ An extension of the existing staircases at both ends of the wards, plus an additional staircase at the connector and building A1
▪️ A new elevator shaft with a passenger-freight lift connecting all wards, with access from ground level
▪️ Replacement of the two existing hospital lifts in the connector building
▪️ An 80 kW photovoltaic installation on the roof – 40 kW for each added storey
▪️ Thermal modernization of the entire existing part of building A1
The whole project was carried out in accordance with the DNSH principle (“do no significant harm”) – a key EU requirement. In practice, this meant strict pollution control, sustainable use of water resources, a circular economy approach, and environmental protection at every stage of construction. Special thanks go to the hospital’s Management and Representatives, as well as the Investor’s Supervision, for their exemplary cooperation and partnership throughout the project. Project team: Project Manager: Elżbieta Krzysztoń-Żymańczyk; Site Manager: Dariusz Matulski; Deputy Site Manager: Adrian Chowaniec. The opening ceremony was attended by Mieczysława Fyk-Łazar, Vice-President of the Management Board and Chief Operating Officer of Adamietz S.A.
